How is GPA calculated?
The grade points of each course are multiplied by its credits (or ECTS). These products are added up and divided by the total credits: GPA = Σ (grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits. Your term GPA is the same calculation using only that term's courses.
Worked example
Calculus is 4 credits with an A− (3.7), Physics 3 credits with a B (3.0) and Biology 3 credits with an A (4.0). The weighted total is 4 × 3.7 + 3 × 3.0 + 3 × 4.0 = 14.8 + 9 + 12 = 35.8. Total credits are 10, so your GPA is 35.8 ÷ 10 = 3.58.
Term GPA and cumulative GPA
Your term GPA covers the courses of one term; your cumulative GPA covers every course you have taken. The app groups your courses by term and keeps track of both.
Frequently asked questions

Should I use credits or ECTS?
Whichever your school uses to weight averages. The formula is the same; only the weighting number changes.
